Dr. Rick Hubbard PMP is a Senior Advisor in Customer Manufacturing Group’s Project Management Practice.
Leveraging four decades’ experience planning, leading and executing complex projects—including ~25 years in leadership positions in Silicon Valley—Rick advises decision-makers of all forms; with emphasis on the “Four Designs of a Project:”
- Value Proposition of Projects;
- Achievable Project Plans;
- Appropriate Project Approaches; and
- Effective Project Structures and Systems.
Based on unique insights regarding the Criticality of Social Processes gleaned over three decades of purposeful improvements to conventional project practices—today, Rick assists executives in firms of all size drive cost, time and risk out of projects by leveraging dozens of innovative Project Management practices he’s developed & refined; including:

Rick consulted to leading Fortune 50 companies, mid-range firms and start-ups. An alumni of KPMG, he’s been a Professional Services executive with such firms as: BEA Systems; FAST Search; and Webtrends. Rick is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and long-time member of the Systems Dynamics Society and IEEE. In 1988, Rick earned the prestigious Certified Management Consultant (CMC) credential awarded by the Institute of Management Consultants. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University and a Ph.D.in Computer Science from Colorado Technical University. He holds an MBA from Creighton University.
